Kelly Brown Gross, PT, MPT, WCS
Kelly grew up on a farm in Eastern Iowa and knew from a young age she wanted to pursue a career in the medical profession. She attended Iowa State University intending to become a veterinarian, but after tearing her ACL while skiing and undergoing rehabilitation, she developed a passion for physical therapy. This experience, along with her love for sports and fitness, led her to change her major and pursue a career in physical therapy. After graduating with an undergraduate degree from ISU, she earned her master’s in physical therapy from The University of Iowa in 2003.
Kelly’s first job was at an acute care hospital in Des Moines, where she assisted patients in regaining strength and mobility after surgery, injury, or illness. She then transitioned to an outpatient facility, where she treated a broader range of orthopedic injuries, post-surgical rehab cases, neuromuscular and mobility challenges. During this time, she honed her orthopedic and manual therapy skills and expanded her expertise to include vestibular therapy and pelvic health. Additionally, she worked in skilled nursing facilities on weekends, helping older adults improve their strength, balance, and mobility to regain independence.
Her passion for pelvic health grew as she began treating patients with various conditions, including bladder and bowel incontinence, urinary frequency/urgency, painful bladder syndrome, pelvic pain, prolapse issues, post-surgical problems, constipation, and pregnancy and postpartum concerns. Kelly played a key role in developing a postpartum rehab program designed to help women regain core strength and confidence to return to their normal activities. Her extensive experience in pelvic health led to her earning the Women’s Health Certified Specialist (WCS) certification.
With over two decades of experience, Kelly brings expertise in pelvic health, orthopedics, balance and mobility dysfunction, and vestibular therapy to Ashworth Chiropractic. She is excited to treat a diverse range of diagnoses and musculoskeletal conditions while continuing her passion for pelvic health. Kelly’s approach focuses on treating the whole person rather than just addressing a specific body part or diagnosis. She is dedicated to identifying the root cause of dysfunction, offering long-lasting relief, and restoring function.
