Insurance Non-Covered Services

At Ashworth Chiropractic, Physical Therapy, and Acupuncture our mission is to support you in achieving your optimal health. We tailor our treatment recommendations to your specific needs, rather than being limited by what your insurance may cover. Your healthcare decisions are personal, and the choice to move forward with care is entirely yours.

Please note: If your insurance does not cover a service, it simply means the financial responsibility will fall to you. You can still choose to receive the care you need, even if insurance does not pay for it.

Insurance coverage only applies if treatment meets their guidelines for medical necessity. Insurance does not cover maintenance care, which, as defined by insurance companies as follows:

“includes services that seek to prevent disease, promote health, and prolong and enhance quality of life, or maintain or prevent deterioration of a chronic condition. When further clinical improvement cannot reasonably be expected from ongoing care, and chiropractic treatment becomes supportive rather than corrective in nature, it is considered maintenance therapy.”

Insurance exclusions:

  • Maintenance care (as defined above unless specifically covered by policy)

Other services that may or may not be covered based on your plan:

  • Exams (depending on policy)
  • X-Rays (depending on policy)
  • Extremity adjustments (anything other than the spine – depending on policy)
  • Durable medical equipment (orthotics, pillows, braces, supports, etc.)
  • Acupuncture (unless performed by an MD/DO/NP or specifically covered by policy for DC/LAc)
  • Laser therapy treatment
  • Dry needling
  • Lab tests
  • Functional medicine
  • Nasal release technique
  • EWOT

This list is not comprehensive and may not include all treatments covered or not covered by your insurance company, policy, or individual plan.

We believe financial concerns should not be a barrier to receiving care. If you have questions about costs, we offer several options to support you. Please don’t hesitate to ask.
