Massage Therapy FAQ

After assessing your fitness level, we select a protocol tailored to your needs. During the session, you will exercise with the goal of elevating your heart rate while being monitored to ensure you’re working at the appropriate intensity—not too hard and not too easy. The session itself lasts 15 minutes.

The number of sessions depends on your goals and condition. For general health or chronic conditions, we recommend 2 to 3 sessions per week for a few weeks. The more severe the condition, the longer therapy may be needed. For sports performance, fewer sessions may be sufficient—often just 2 to 4 sessions can provide a noticeable boost, depending on your current fitness level. EWOT delivers benefits quickly, and consistent sessions enhance long-term results.

The first visit typically lasts around 30 minutes, as we take time to understand your goals and familiarize you with the process and equipment. Subsequent sessions include 15 minutes of exercise, with an additional 10 minutes for warm-up and cool-down.

For your EWOT session, wear athletic or loose-fitting clothes suitable for light exercise, such as what you’d wear on an elliptical, recumbent elliptical, or exercise bike. Comfortable athletic shoes are also recommended.

Yes, we require you to purchase your own mask during your first session. Don’t worry—it’s reusable and only a one-time expense.

No, a referral is not required to schedule an EWOT session. However, for certain conditions, such as cardiovascular issues, we may require clearance from your primary care provider (PCP) to ensure it is safe for you to engage in general exercise.

EWOT sessions are not covered by insurance and are considered an out-of-pocket expense.

What is Exercise with Oxygen Therapy (EWOT)?

Exercise with Oxygen Therapy (EWOT) combines physical activity with breathing concentrated oxygen, typically through a mask connected to an oxygen concentrator. This therapy increases oxygen levels in the bloodstream, enhancing cellular function, energy production, and overall health. By exercising while breathing 92% to 97% oxygen—far higher than the 21% in regular air—EWOT helps optimize the delivery of oxygen to tissues that need it most. This increased oxygenation promotes cellular repair, detoxification, and improved physical performance, making it a powerful tool for boosting health and recovery.

Discover the Benefits of EWOT

Exercise with Oxygen Therapy (EWOT) enhances oxygen delivery to tissues during physical activity, offering a range of benefits for overall health and well-being. This innovative therapy boosts energy production, improves circulation, supports detoxification, and accelerates recovery. EWOT is effective for addressing chronic fatigue, cardiovascular issues, inflammatory conditions, autoimmune disorders, neurological challenges, respiratory recovery, and more. Whether enhancing athletic performance or supporting chronic conditions like diabetes or low immune function, EWOT promotes cellular repair and long-term vitality. What Conditions Does EWOT Address?

EWOT enhances the body’s natural healing processes, making it beneficial for a variety of health conditions. It improves energy, circulation, and oxygenation, supporting both chronic and acute health issues. From chronic fatigue to cardiovascular problems, inflammatory conditions, and even athletic performance, EWOT offers a versatile approach to promoting health and well-being.

  • Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Low Energy Levels: EWOT boosts cellular energy production by increasing oxygen availability, which enhances ATP production and combats fatigue.
  • Cardiovascular Issues (e.g., hypertension, poor circulation): By promoting vasodilation, EWOT improves blood flow, reduces blood pressure, and supports overall heart health.
  • Inflammatory Conditions (e.g., arthritis, joint pain): Increased oxygen delivery reduces inflammation and helps alleviate joint pain, promoting mobility and comfort.
  • Autoimmune Disorders (e.g., Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, neuropathy):
Enhanced blood flow and oxygenation improve cognitive function, promote nerve repair, and alleviate neuropathy symptoms.
  • Respiratory Challenges (e.g., chronic lung disease, post-illness recovery): EWOT strengthens lung function and oxygen uptake, aiding recovery and improving breathing efficiency.
  • Diabetes and Insulin Resistance: By making exercise easier and improving circulation, EWOT enhances insulin sensitivity and helps manage blood sugar levels.
  • Low Immune Function (e.g., chronic infections, weakened immunity):
Increased oxygenation boosts immune cell production, helping the body fight off infections more effectively.
  • Athletic Performance and Recovery: Higher oxygen levels enhance endurance during exercise and speed up recovery by clearing lactic acid and reducing muscle fatigue.

  • Complementary Support During Cancer Treatment: EWOT promotes tissue healing, reduces inflammation, and improves circulation, supporting recovery during and after cancer treatment.

Each session is customized to ensure the most effective and satisfying experience, addressing your specific health needs and preferences.

Dr. Matt and the entire staff have been GREAT! I went in for some issues I was having with my neck and back and Dr. Matt also helped me with some other issues I was having with my calf and shoulders that have made a HUGE improvement in my overall health and comfort.

Dr. Wilson and Dr, Alec (PT) are both top-notch, and I’ve trusted my whole family with Dr. Matt Wilson for the last couple of years. My father was a chiropractor for over 40 years, so I knew what I was looking for, and he’s the best we’ve found in the area.  Their approach is to get you feeling better, and not to string things out, costing you more time and money than necessary. While they have all the equipment necessary (x-ray, etc) they don’t push unneeded services or snake oils. Both are caring, competent, and compassionate. The staff is good about finding appointments when you need them, and scheduling you with multiple people in a visit whenever possible. The new building is clean, well-appointed, and comfortable. Wait times are short, too. My husband has also had a therapy-based deep tissue massage from one of the two new massage therapists, and said it really helped!

The whole staff is very kind and professional and flexible. I’m very pleased with my experience I’ve had at the clinic. They offer massages along with acupuncture and they do a great job in both. They are very accommodating and easy to talk to.

My first visit with DR Matt I could not walk standing up. I literally had to walk bent over. I was in so much pain. He looked at my MRI and knew what he was dealing with. He did gentle maneuvers,,stretching and massaging. I now walk upright with no pain 😃 Thank you DR Matt for giving me back my life!!

Dr. Matthew squeezed me in on short notice and took very good care of me. He was very thorough and didn’t just adjust me and let me walk out. Amazing experience here and the receptionist is a sweetheart.
